Farnham Pilgrim Family Walk
The Farnham Pilgrim Family Walk is a way to keep the family entertained while the runners are running. The route is all marked and is approximately 2.5 miles long, so it is not too taxing for the little ones.
The route passes some large houses including the Huf house featured on Grand designs, It takes you through fir trees onto the glorious Puttenham Common, it the weaves through massive rhododendron bushes through more woodland and eventually to the top of Crooksbury Hill where there are spectacular views of the South Downs, including Frensham , Tilford and in the background Butser hill near Petersfield. The route then follows back down pass large houses again to the Finish at Sand Recreation Ground.
There is also entertainment on the Start/Finish area with a large seating area, and a Children`s play area. Refreshments will be available including bacon sandwiches, cakes, coffee from Hobo artisan coffee and tea from the Woodlarks centre. Just enjoy the atmosphere while the Farnham Brass Band play a selection of classic hits. Maybe try “Pilgrims Porter” the official beer of the Pilgrim marathon, whilst the kids play in the playground, awaiting the runners to finish.
We ask for a small donation at the start, and kids get a rubber wristband saying “Farnham Pilgrims Walk” at the finish.
